John Lee takes the helm of Australian Sailing and is excited with the prospect of his new role.
He was formerly CEO of Sydney Roosters. His new assignment takes him to be the top shot in the Australian Sailing organization. He has left his old job role and taken on Matt Carroll’s role. As a result, his new responsibilities would be to continue with the record of success that the sport has been seen in the country, having won Olympic medals in four out of seven events in Rio last year. Lee states that he is happy to be part of the Australian Sailing as it is a sport that he has admired and followed for many years. He realizes that the opportunity offered to him is great and he would be working with different state associations, classes and clubs.
Also, there would be a lot of work that has to be done as was done by President Matt Allen earlier. He would be delivered on reforms that have been introduced as well as helping to establish a new structure nationally.
He would be focused on building working relationships with clubs and state associations as well as working with the different athletes and management of Australia to help them prepare for the forthcoming Olympics in Tokyo that would be held in 2020. Carroll, who earlier handled this role, resigned to take up CEO position of the Australian Olympic Committee. Hence, it does seem that John Lee would work in close contention with his former predecessor at promoting the sport and helping the different clubs and organizations develop talent for the Olympics would be at the pinnacle of the objectives that John would be working with. Of course, he would also need to promote the country’s participation in other international sailing activities.
